Following this post , here are some Updates for the DXpedition to Arwad Island :

The team members got their license to operate from this new IOTA island with the callsign YK9SV , but they are still trying to get a 6m license .

Second Venezuelan YL only DXpedition on so many years . Organized by the 4M5DX Group . The location will be on "Chimana Grande" Island (Anzoátegui State Group) IOTA SA-090 .

The call sign will be YW6YL .
The team consist of : Laura Cecilia Giraldo /YY4LCG , Andreina Blasco /YY4AND ,Ydorca Vazques /YY5EVA , Carolina Vega /YY4CVI and Maika Casanova

P29VCX -DXpedition on air

Today at 0815z was the first spot by SK3BG for the P29VCX , on 20m , CW Mode !
IOTA OC-284 , Nukumanu Island .
I was trying to follow their sigs for about 2 hrs , but very weak with big tunes on both Freq. (Tx and split) .
At last P29VCX is in the log , on SSB , 20m , still weak but readable .
I have moved to a new QTH since 2 days , living in the 16th floor now , cond. and prop. are amazing now from the tower of Natanya city ! have dropped a temporary long wire from the roof (18th floor) ....hi

Some Log Statistics.....

I just finished to transfer some of the paper logs from the last months .
I am lazy to continue with all 7 paper logs from earlier years (1986-2003 ), probably will leave the QSO's in the paper logs or will do that by time .

I decided also to leave the WAE Contest loggings in the paper log (250 QSO's ) .

Sometimes i really think that paper log is the best way of loggings....
Any volunteer to transfer more then 22000 QSO's ? hi....

Now , my target is the first RDA application , statistics show 458 Heard RDA and 260 Confirmed RDA , still needs to check many QSL's , until the application will be ready...that's a whole world !

I Wish i was retired....hi

anyway , i found Winlog32 the best software for me , full of statistics functions .

HQ8R -Swan Island DXpedition Update

Following this post , here is an Update !

Javier/HR2J will operate from Swan Island , IOTA NA-035 , starting 7 October until 8 November ,that would be a one man expedition , and will be signing as HQ8R .

Last operation was HR6SI in 2001 !

Awards hunters - ALERT !

During the last few days i was trying to combined a reasonable translation in English for an interesting Russian award .
With the spirit of the UE1RSP , special event station to memorial Sergei Preminin (read earlier posts) ,there is an award that if you worked UE1RSP it will count 20 points !
Special thanks to Oleg /R9U-007 and to Marsha /N8FE for helping me to combined the best syntax to English for this award !

Qrz.ru translation function is not the correct English syntax , so here are the rules as i combined with the help of the two mentioned above .

"100 years submarine fleet of Russia Diplom"
The Diploma is founded by СРВС (Russian military HAM's club) and АЛРС (HAM club of St.-Petersburg) and stands out to radio amateurs and SWL's of all world .
You need QSO's or SWL reports with veterans of WW2 , members CPBC , with ex-Navy HAM's , and and with stations from Russian oblasts ,regions :
St.-Petersburg and the Leningrad region (R1A,B,C,D,E,F + some more old calls ),
Murmansk region (R1Y ,Z),
the Arkhangelsk region (R1O),
the Kaliningrad region (R2F) ,
Krasnodar (R6A ,B ,C ,D ) and Primorye Territory (R0L ,M) ,
Crimea (Ukraine) (UU5J ,UT5J) .
QSO's are valid during in days of activity of СРВС and in actions of any radio expedition to memorial the "Victory" .

To get the Certificate you must collect 100 points :
- Special stations - 20 .
- Veterans of war - submariners - 19 .
- Veterans of war - seamen - 17 .
- Veterans of war - 15
- Members СРВС - submariners - 12 .
- Members СРВС - seamen - 10 .
- Members СРВС - 5 .
- Radio fans - submariners - 10 .
- Radio fans - seamen - 2 .
- Radio fans from the specified regions - 1 point .

The same station may be worked few times by another mode, bands and at another activity days .
If you are a War Veteran , then you do not have to meet the 100 points requirement .
To get the Certificate to memorial and special stations , members СРВС and the radio fans concerning the Navy , you must get at least 50 connections in days of activity .
If you work only on 160 metres and VHF it is necessary to collect 30 points .

Cost of the diploma with transfer (across Russia) - 50 rbl .
Certificate is free to War Veterans or whatever they would like to donate .
Invalids and the collective radio stations working with youth , pay only transfer of the diploma (for Russia) - 15 rbl. , it is possible marks , (For Ukraine - 6 гр.).

UE1RSP/P -Special Event Station

During the first part of September , Mike /UA1QV made a large trip (more then 1500 km on speedometers ) dedicated to Hero of Russia , sailor-submariner Sergei Preminin . Mike /UA1QV ,Sergei /RW1QV and Alex /RW1QK worked as UE1RSP , UE1RSP/M , UE1RSP/4/M and UE1RSM/4/M .
They visited RDA districts : VO-21 ,24 ,23 ,20 ,09 ,02 ,17 and RDA's KI-35 ,24 .

Mike inform that blanks of QSL-cards are in print now .

On 18 Oct 2007 , Russia will celebrate the birthday of Sergei Preminin .
Mike /UA1QV will be on the air as UE1RSP/P .

Operation will be from street "Sergej Preminin" in Vologda .

IOTA EU-160 QSL's & Status

See here if you are on the list of those that Mike /UA1QV received their QSL's for the EU-160 operation as well as EU-102 and for UA1QV/MM QSO's.
Mike informed that he will reply to the QSL's when he will receive the blank cards from printer , that would be hopefully on the end of September.
