30 Minutes before the WPX Contest begin...

So , just few minutes before the WPX Contest will start .
i guess everybody already feel the environment of big pile-ups coming soon....hi

many interesting stations are around , last week i hrd and logged :3DA0RH , XV9SW ,BD7DRJ/7 (AS-139), 9M4SDX (Spratly Is.),YE1AA ,VP9/K0ARY(already got a direct Qsl from him for contacts on2004 , 3 bands ) .

The LZ129LO is a Special event to commemorate 129th anniversary ofthe liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman yoke by Russia ,activated bythe Balkan Contest Club LZ1KZA (LZ5A) , from 1st till 31st of March2007 .
Unfurtantly , there were big and many Zoo Frequencies ! except 3DA0PB that used a SPLIT , the others were vy difficult to log .lets see what the Contest will bring us .... :-)

Conditions today were vy good here ! the sun is just down now but the 20m is still open !the far east was party today in my log ! here are some of today's loggings :

in the morning (i wake up vy early ) around 0200 Utc , the 80m band was open for about an hour here , i logged mni US Stations .
Today was the DIG Contesten , i had the chance to log 98 Qso's , 80 of them were Germans ! i am a DOK nut Collector , i wonder how mni new DOK's i logged this Shabat ....i am vy happy that i finally logged the TC0DX ! Cw mode on the 20m band .

One of the Most Wanted Dxcc

Finally i got one of the Most wanted Dxcc countries !

Republic Of Yemen , operated by Pekka and signed as 7O/OH2YY .

The Qso was made in 2002 with IZ7AUH .

i sent an email to Pekka and asked if he still got Qsls for this operation , then sent him a Qsl card directly and got a confirmation .

One of the most rare Dxcc countries is in my Collection !

"Bavarian Radio Friends" awards - arrived

Yesterday i got the "Radio Activity Award January 2007" from Hans , DE3EAR .
the award issued # 014 for SSB Category .
a nice Certificate for honorary membership in the "Bavarian Radio Friends" Club was also in the envelope , member #28 .
My application for the ELLA -"The European Lighthouse and Lightship Award" , will be ready soon and i am waiting for the May '07 activities as well !

ARRL International DX Contest / SSB '07

I know there is no Swl category for this Contest , i just thought it may be a good opportunity to log US Stations and to increase my US Counties statistics !
i counted a total of 18 hrs of Swl'ing on this weekend , 12 hrs were dedicated for this contest .
The conditions were vy good here ! on Friday night , i startred listning on the 80m , the band was open but i logged only 20 Qso's and then moved to the 40m band , logged there 10 Qso's , then i had to shut down due the vy late hour here .
Saturday morning , 3rd March , i wake up early today and continue to Swl ....
Many Russians were active on the 20m band......--- i just had to shut down in the late hrs of this afternoon due some real life duty .
unfurtantly , i won't be active tommorow 'cause i am going to work .... :-(
anyway , i am glad that i had the opportunity to log such a number of US stations in a one day , i just wonder how many of them will send me a Qsl..... ;-)
My summarize : a total of 82 Qso's with US stations , 34 States and only 5 stations from Canada , 3 Canadian provinces were logged on this weekend .
i had the chance to log some new Prefixes during this contest : NS8 ,KJ8 ,NK7 and AC8 ....
N.C and N.J callsigns were the most active stations in my log in this weekend .
Unfurtantly KL7 was not heard/logged here .....
i do hope that one day there will be a Swl category for this contest !

i am vy curious how many counties i got confirmed ! i didn't made any research or statistics for my US Qsls yet , that would take couple of days i guess , since i got more then 2000 US Qsls , that would be probably my nxt project .
at least i got all States confirmed here , that i know for sure...hi
