I am using this reciever starting July'86 ,It is still working in my Shack , especially for the low bands . The Cup is for the 1st place in Israel , SWL Category , in the "Holyland Dx Contest -1998" .For those who ask who i am , just look at QRZ.com , can't say here anything else except that i am an IOTA Smurf !

My SWL activity on July & August 2007


I got busy now with transferring QSO's from my paper logs to my Winlog32 software ...
I am stuck with approximately 680 QSO's to be transferred to the logger ...
At least all QSL's for July/August are already hand written !
These months have been very busy with SWL'ing .
IOTA Contest , RDA Contest , Romanian Contest and ofcourse the daily logging's .
The photo show the QSL's out for this months in that order ( from the top ) . In the Background see the 4X7AZ QSL card , Akhziv Islands 2007's operation during the IOTA contest , that arrived today by direct with the Cup for the Holyland Dx Contest '98 , first place SWL .

My next goal after this "dirty" work will be done , is to try finalize my RDA Score , that would take longer , thousands of Russian QSL's need to be checked....

3C7Y Dxpedition , IOTA AF-010



A new DX pedition to Republic of Equatorial Guinea ,Bioko Island IOTA AF-010 , will take place from October 05 to October 14 .
The callsign will be 3C7Y .
Team members will be Frederic /KH7Y , Vicente/ EA5YN, Luis /EA5BRE and Elmo /EA5BYP .
They will operate with two stations for ten days , transmitting on all bands , in the modes CW - SSB - and RTTY .

Gelendjikskiy Lighthouse , ERU-030



Look for Mike /RV3ECW to be active from the Gelendjikskiy lighthouse , on 30 August .
Operation will be after 1100z . Depend the weather , it still vy hot for mobile activity in that area , About +40 degrees .
Russian Lighthouse reference ERU-030 .
Before ERU -030 : he will try to active from RDA KR-15/24 border from one of mountine waterefall . About 500 m under sea level .

RK3DZJ/1 Dxpedition Update.....


Following this post here is an update by Andy /RZ3EM as per SMS Message from RN1NU :
Because of strong storm on the White Sea (the strength of the wind is up to 20 meters per second ) they go on to stay on the Bolshoe Kinalische Island , reference RRA RR-02-10 , IOTA EU-147 .
When the weather change ,they will travel to the other Islands .
Requests for direct cards for all RK3DZJ Expeditions should be sent to RA3DEJ .

Swan Island , IOTA NA-035


A Team from the Radio Club de Honduras and four operators from the US plan to be active from the rare Swan Island , IOTA NA-035 on 23-28 September , weather permitting . A special callsign HQ0S or HQ6S has been requested .
Javier /HR2J, update that the Dxpedition to Swan Island , which is known locally as Islas de Santanilla or Islas del Cisne has obtained permission and he chartered a 31 foot twin diesel yacht . Traveling with him will be NP3D , K2BB , KB2PDW ,K4FO , and KC4CD/HR2 . They will have four radios and two amplifiers with multiple antennas . The team plans to depart La Ceiba on the mainland of Honduras in the early morning hours of September 23rd arriving around local noon that same day and returning sometime on the28th . If need be they can stay an extra day . Plans are to be QRV on all bands and modes . Plans are to have a Website , to be announced soon . They are still waiting for their callsign and hope to get HQ9S.
The QSL at the top is from a previous operation in 2001 , HR6SI was confirmed on 15 metres ,
SSB .

Pelican Island , IOTA NA-143


Look for W5P to be active from Pelican Island , IOTA NA-143 on Saturday August 25 , that will be the first activation on this Island and will stay during all day on apprx. 14.260 , 7.260 MHz .
The operation will be by the Tri-County Amateur Radio Club of North Texas .
Pelican Island is a landmark Island in Eagle Mountain Lake of North Central Texas , near the city of Azle .

TI9 , Cocos Island - DXpedition 2008


The DXpedition scheduled for February 2008 is still seeking members to join the team , especially experienced CW operators . Until now only four Hams confirmed their participation : Gunter /TI7WGI , Andreas /DH8WR , Guenter /DL2AWG and Oscar /EA1DR .
Right now they still try to figure out whether they take part in the
WPX RTTY Contest or the ARRL CW Contest .
Since they can stay there for only ten days (including the way back and forth) only one serious contest participation can beplanned during this time .Further information can be obtained from :

Between 20-27 Of August , Valery/ RZ6AU , Jack /RW3QC , Yuri /RU6UR and Alexander /RA6UF will be active from river internal islands RI-30-5 , RI-30-6 , RI-30-7 .

The DX-pedition callsign is UE6UFO . The basic frequencies (+/- QRM) : SSB - 7050, 14170, 21170, CW - 7020, 14020, 21020 .

GS0AYR , Ailsa craig EXpedition -Pictures


Arthur /MM0DHQ was kind to send me an email with a bunch of pictures from the Ailsa Craig Operation .
On the 5th of August 2007 a group of ten Amateur Radio enthusiasts from the Ayr and Kilmarnock Amateur Radio clubs visited the uninhabited island of Ailsa Craig on the Firth of Clyde – some 10 miles off the coast from the village of Girvan in South West Scotland .
The people taking part were :
Dennis Nutt /GM3YDN , George Nutt , Bob Bower /GM4DLG , Charlie Stewart /MM0GNS , Chris Tait /MM3LZW , Graham Cochrane /2M0GCS; Arthur Clark /MM0DHQ , David Hamilton Livingstone /MM3DHL , Bill Findlay /GM4ZNC and John Shankland / GM3CSO .
