IOTA EU-123 , Eilean HOAN (SCOTIA DI30) Friday 27th evening to Sunday 29th morning (during this period , one problem for my QRP station will be the 24-hour IOTA contest - I'll be struggling to stay around 14257.5 , swamped by themulti-kilowatt guys !! ).
IOTA EU-123 , RABBIT Island (SCOTIA DI31) Sunday 29th or Monday 30th until ????...at this stage it becomes very WX-dependent , this area (especially the Pentland Firth) being one of the most treacherous sea areas in the world...
IOTA EU-123 , Eilean nan RON (SCOTIA DI32)... not before Monday 30th and until ????...
IOTA EU-005 , NEAVE Island (SCOTIA DI33)... not before Tuesday 31st and until
???? For these last 3 islands (DI31 , 32 and 33) I will have the same boatman ,
and "transfer" from one island to the next , will depend on the sea-state...There
are no jetties or sheltered anchorages.....
IOTA EU-123 , STROMA Island (SCOTIA DI34)...not before Wednesday 1st August ,
and I really suspect quite a bit later....the tidal currents here are very
treacherous...this is where it pays to have a good boatman (in this case , one
who has spent his life making this crossing....) .
As with my recent 5-island trip to the southern Outer Hebrides , and in view of
the distances involved from the home QTH , I am determined to make every
reasonable effort to activate all 5 islands , but there can be no guarantees .
